I liked this short story. It's a first time author for me but the reason I rated it a 4 was because in my opinion the omega wolf "giggled" and was a bit too shy for my liking. I liked that he was going to school and they had a lot of common interests. I like my m/m shifter romances with a mate for an alpha to be a bit more confident (I don't know how to explain it) than this one was but that's my opinion and I do not discourage anyone to read this short story. I'm going to move on to another book by this author and see how that one turns out for me.
It's as if the author slapped a boy's name on a teenage girl. The Omega wolf was the typical sympathetic character who had been abused by his parents, siblings, and classmates because he is seen as useless. He does a lot of blushing and giggling which is seen as adorable to the alpha but made him seem less real and relatable to this reader. Things happen very abruptly in this story, although it states that time has gone by in the real world. You never get a good grasp on the 'character' of any of the people featured in this book. There is no climax to the story and even the very glossed over dinner featuring an obnoxious blonde named Lydia is very clichéd and poorly executed.The characters felt like cardboard cutouts and the story felt recycled,flat, and very unsexy.
Spoiler the end game is that the omega wolf ends up pregnant even though he is seen as useless to the family his ability to create life is seen as unimportant. Being that the only thing different from him than a woman is actually his genitalia it inadvertently accuses the fairer sex of being useless. Are all men suppose to be buff, protective, and aggressive? This story seems to suggest that is so. The final insult is that the author leaves the way in which the child will be born to your imagination.
If you like your romances super sweet... I mean red candy apple or cotton candy sweet, you will enjoy this short. I haven't been reading the Unlimited books that had been sitting for several weeks on my Carousel. Tonight I started deleting most of those books and selecting new books. Luckily I decided to take a peek inside this story before I got rid of it. Boy am I ever glad I did.
I've started several books over this weekend, but just didn't feel compelled to continue any of them. That was not the case with this story. I wanted to know who Lee would end up with. I had no recollection of the story summary or reviews, so this story's occurrences were completely an unexpectedly sweet surprise. A nagging Mom - demanding grandbabies, does what she needs to make this happen setting her most eligible bachelor son up on blind dates to give him a nudge in the right direction.
Most of the time as evidenced by Lee's continuing bachelor status, these dates didn't work out the way his Mom hoped. This time was only slightly different in that it was one of the worst dates of Lee's life. Luckily he ended the night with the cute adorable Omega that would ultimately become his unexpected mate.
Once Lee met his mate the story takes a very sweet turn, no more blind date angst. But don't be fooled, this is still an erotic romance so expect some explicit sex, though only one scene. Also this is a male pregnancy story. If you don't enjoy them don't read this story. Overall I enjoyed this sweet short, but then again I love both red candy apples and cotton candy.

This was a romantic get-to-know you story. It was sweet and loving. Ryan the outcast, the omega gets he last laugh on his jerk of a family. He captures the heart the perfect alpha male. The sex was sensual and not rushed.
